Las Hermanas Vera (The Vera sisters) - 53 years with music
They're the most important female duo in Argentinian folk music, particularly in the style of Chamamé. This lively, yet nostalgic folk genre from the Northeast of Argentina has been recently incorporated by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of mankind.
Las Hermanas' career spans 53 years with 32 records. They've been awarded their second Gardel Prize (the Argentinian music industry awards) for Best Chamamé Record this year. They tour Argentina and the whole world bringing Chamamé's classics and newer repertoire to a wide audience.
